E.O. Hoppe

Born in Munich, Emil Otto Hoppé (1878-1972) moved to Britain in 1902 and began a photographic career in 1907. He became known for photographing leading figures from the worlds of politics, literature and the arts. His famous sitters included Tilly Losch, Nijinsky, Margot Fonteyn, Jacob Epstein, Somerset Maugham and members of the royal family.
