Loans to Exhibitions

The Terence Pepper Collection has lent prints, magazines and ephemera to many exhibitions around the world over the years, starting in 1975 with a loan to the V&A exhibition 'Fashion 1900-1939' which included E.O. Hoppe photographs of Russian ballet dancers, postcards of The Gibson Girl, Camille Clifford, and photographs of Anton Dolin and Alice Nikitina by Lenare.

Amongst the exhibitions the Collection has lent to in more recent years are: 

  • 'Beautiful People: The Boutique in 1960s Counterculture', Fashion and Textile Museum, London (1 October 2021 – 13 March 2022)

  • 'Swinging London: A Lifestyle Revolution | Terence Conran – Mary Quant', Fashion and Textile Museum, London (8 February – 2 June 2019)

  • 'This Was Tomorrow. Pop Art in Great Britain' at the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg, Germany (30 October 2016 -19 February 2017

  • 'Vogue 100: A Century of Style' at the National Portrait Gallery, London and subsequent venues (2016-17)

  • '1920s Jazz Age Fashion & Photographs' at the Fashion and Textile Museum, London (2016-17)

  • 'Vivien Leigh: Public Faces, Private Lives' at Nymans (National Trust property) in collaboration with the V&A, London (1 June - 4 September 2016)

  • 'Fashion, 1900-1939' at the V&A, London (1975)
